Lwandai Secondary School is a church school, owned by–EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN TANZANIA- NORTH EASTERN DIOCESE. The school is located at Mlalo division in Lushoto District Tanga Region, 42Km from Lushoto Town.
The school started in 1987 as the first church Secondary School in the ELCT–NED under the Leadership of Late Bishop Sebastian Kolowa, who was the manager of the school by then. The school was officially registered by the Ministry of Education and culture on 03/02/1987 with registration no. S.359 and was registered as an examination Centre with No. S0584. The school was established in order to provide education and Spiritual services within the Diocese and outside the Diocese. The school is a Co-education, both female and male students and includes students from form one to six (O – level and A- Level).
The school has vision, mission and Motto that enables it to perform its activities smoothly.

Lwandai secondary schools has various Friends and Partners provides sponsorship to some students from low level income just to make them enjoy the pride and have successful life in future as well they also continue to assist on the development of the school especially in renovation of some old buildings and coloring the corrugated iron sheet to make the school environment suit the learning and teaching environment. These Partners includes UNDUGU from a Partner school “Hainberg Gymnasium” from Gottingen German, BBS3 from Hannover, Dithmarschen, etc.
MODERN SCIENCE LABORATORIES
Lwandai secondary school since its establishment has been favouring students who wish to be scientists so a good number of them are serving in various hospitals as physicians, dentists and physiotherapists. The school has good modern science laboratories for chemistry, biology, physics and Agriculture. Apart from that the school also has been installed will Solar power to make sure students and staff keep on working and preparing their stuff.
The school provide good security for both humans and physical environment.
HEALTH SERVICES
There is a dispensary at the school with a well-trained staff nurse provide good care of the students in case of emergence and minor injuries as the first Aid. But in case serious cases students are taken to the main dispensary where the get further treatment.
GUIDENCE AND COUNSELLING
The school a guidance and counselling unit that is provide students confidence to stand by themselves. Well trained staff spare their time to deal with maters concerning psychological and emotional problems just let them be secure and open to develop their careers.

Lwandai secondary school is a Christian school but it respects freedom of worship. The school allows students to worship according to their religion.
